During my visit, I was with an elderly person who is very particular about their dishes, and Emilio managed to meet all their expectations and whims. If you’re traveling and want to eat excellently at a reasonable cost, this is the ideal place. It exceeded my expectations in both service and food quality. I ordered cheese-stuffed chiles rellenos and a well-prepared lentil soup with tostadas. I also recommend trying the nopalitos prepared with garlic, pickled style, and the handmade tortillas. I love the enthusiasm of the staff! Everyone is so welcoming, and the lineup of food is spectacular! As you walk in, you can see the "cazuelas" with the scrumptious dishes. Their carnitas are simply wonderful. Everything is delicious!

I live for finding the understated hidden gems of an area. This restaurant with a modest storefront hides truly delicious comfort food. It's a must go place for any visitor to this enchanting city. It doesn't hurt that there are some English speakers to describe the dishes. Nothing fancy. Just delicious

I wish every neighbourhood had a Pepes. It is very clean, welcoming and has a lot of authentic food. Pepe himself explained the buffet and suggested what would be good, even talked us out of ordering too much! We let Pepe choose the dishes, and they were all excellent. You will not be hungry for hours and hours after a meal there. Pepe is super friendly and I would totally go there again.
Very authentic Mexican. 8 different stews to choose from and fantastic service. Owner speaks English and is very helpful.
I visit Qro for work 3 times a year and always make a point to eat here as much as I can ..the carnitas are amazing best I have tasted and I travel a lot ...highly recommended trust me
